With every new year comes new style and features and that is what has made Corvette an American Sports Car icon for so many years. For over six decades, Chevrolet continues to refine, improve and make the Corvette faster than the previous year while adding comfort, safety, and affordability to the vehicle. From a base model all the way up to the super ZR-1, Corvette is a highly desirable, best bang for the buck, and complete American muscle that catches the eye of every sports car enthusiest.

Chevy Makes A ‘Good’ Stingray GREAT!

So what’s new 2106 Corvette? Well let’s start with what is standard on this years model. You can still order a coupe or a convertible that appeals to the American wide body muscle car fan, that looks fast even before you start the engine! You will still get all the constant Corvette curves, sharp body style contours, vents and scoops all around the exterior that Corvette is known for.

Standard engine is a 6.2L (376 cubic inch) V8 with 455 horsepower with 460 pounds of torque coupled with a 7-speed transmission with Active Rev Matching. The aluminum structure frame and 4-wheel independent suspension still give Corvette a dream ride while keeping the pounds off. Also 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes for complete stopping power and aluminized stainless steel exhaust with 3″ polished stainless steel tips for that sweet look we have always loved about Corvette.

This new technology enhances the Corvette keeping on par with other non-American models in the highly competitive super sports car space. An 8-way driver and passenger seat adjusters, power tilt and telescopic steering column with 3-spoked leather wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel.

Corvette Gets New Technology

Some cool technology like voice recognition and driver information center controls are located in the steering wheel. A theft deterrent system with push button start and immobilizer and audible visual alarm also adorn its interior. The interior is enhanced by substantial upgrades made for the C7’s 2014 initial debut. Giving Corvette an edge are premium soft touch fully-wrapped interior materials and significant new technology like the Drive Mode Selector. Regular GT seating and a Competition Sport seat arrangement with more aggressive side bolstering for greater support on the track are Chevy’s seating options. When stepping into the Corvette for that long cruise, the new GT and Competition Sport seats are comfortable and extra supportive for drivers of all shapes and sizes.

For Corvette’s exterior, silver-painted aluminum wheels 18″ X 8.5″ front and 19″ X 10″ rear, performance tires P245/40ZR18 front and P285/35ZR19 rear are what gives Corvette a race type ride. A removable carbon fiber roof panel provides that open look and feel out on the road. Also exterior heated outside power-adjustable mirrors, a rear vision camera, active handling stability control improves traction and enhances vehicle stability.

2016 Added Bonuses2016-Chevrolet-Corvette-z07-convertible-Blue

From the outside in, two new exterior colors, Corvette Racing Yellow and Long Beach Red Metallic, replace Velocity Yellow and Crystal Red from the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette model year. An all aluminum body structure enables the Stingray as well as the Z06 convertible with a crisp smooth ride not felt in some convertibles. This is highly due to the pure design of the C7 that was calculated as an open top roadster from its beginning.

One cool feature of the convertible top is that it can be raised or lowered at up to 30 miles per hour and is tight in its fit with good visibility when the top is up. It can also be controlled remotely by using the key fob. The thirteen pound carbon fiber roof on the coupe can be easily removed for that almost convertible feel and stored in the rear hatch space with secure integrated mounts. With 2016 comes fresh designs and additional options for both Stingray and Z06 coupes and convertibles. Three design packages, Spice Red, Twilight Blue, and Jet Black Suede, come with an interior that parallels their name. Many with new and unique exterior details like painted trim, stripes, wheels, and different top colors for convertibles. Even the latches on convertible trunks and coupe hatches all get a power-cinching feature to pull them down. Also a a new front curb-view camera will be available.
