Grand Sport Features and Options

Grand Sport kicks in the beefier unique suspension tuning and the Brembo 15.5″/15.3″ carbon-ceramic brake package from its upgraded cousin, the Z06. With the Z07 package, also available on the Grand Sport,  you’ll notice the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 ZP tire series in each corner of Corvette. The extra muscle of the supercharged LT4 should not go unseen, however the additional upgraded sticker of the Grand Sport, performance mods for the LT1 become in range.

Let us begin with the mid-level 2LT trim package which shows off some cool luxuries such as heated/cooled seats, a front parking camera, and  upgraded tunes over the base car. This takes Grand Sport down $6000 under the top 3LT trim. There are many colors to choose from for this new model Corvette. One of our traditional favorites is the classic C4 Grand Sport scheme of Admiral Blue with a white body-length stripe, and torch red hash marks. This will make older Grand Sport fans feel right at home!

Grand Sport Power!

Power comes from the same LT1 6.2-liter V-8 engine used by Corvette Stingrays. The sweet-sounding exhaust adds loudness of the Z51 package and five horsepower to the Corvette’s V-8, bringing the sums to hellaciously loud and 460 horsepower. Chevrolet adds to the 2017 Grand Sport the current Z06’s cooling systems, wider rear fenders, and a look-alike grille. The 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels wear Z06-fitment 285/30 and 335/25 Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber. The regular Corvette’s optional Magnetic Ride Control adjustable dampers come standard, as do specially tuned anti-roll bars and front and rear transverse composite leaf springs.

When you consider $8,000 to upgrade to the Z07 package, it hardly seems expensive compared to what the possibilities really are with this Grand Sport. The Z07 kit includes Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a passel of functional carbon-fiber pieces for aerodynamics.

Some unique elements on the Grand Sport include springs and anti-roll bars are tuned specifically for this model. The Grand Sport’s version of the Z07 package doesn’t include the clear center section or tall end caps from the Z06, as the Grand Sport simply doesn’t need that much downforce. The grille design is unique, as are the fender inserts. To dress it up, you can select from ten exterior colors and several stripes combinations, yielding a large number of possible Grand Sport looking Corvettes!

Buyers choose either a seven-speed manual transmission with rev-matching on downshifts or an eight-speed automatic. Like other modern Corvettes, all of these bits talk to each other and change behavior with the twist of a dial on the center console. You can also add the $2000 Competiton Sport Bucket seats which are more aggressively bolstered than the standard GT seats. And as offered on Stingray and Z06, Chevrolet Performance Data Recorder will log video of your driving sessions, along with real-time performance data, onto an SD memory card so you can analyze your technique and improve your driving abilities. And when someone else is driving the car, Valet mode can capture video and data for additional peace of mind!
